SCOTT GOODRICH ENDS CRSA SPRINT SEASON WITH FIVE MILE POINT VICTORY
KIRKWOOD, New York…The CRSA Sprint Car Tour ended its season at the Five Mile Point Speedway in Kirkwood, New York Friday. Twenty two cars signed in for the final race of the season with Scott Goodrich of Middletown, New York continuing his hot season with another flag to flag win on the racey quarter mile speedway.
Goodrich and Chad Miller lead the field to Kenny Marshall’s green flag to start the twenty five lap feature event. Goodrich took the lead from the start followed closely by Miller, Tom Radivoy, and newcomer Jonathan Preston. Racing was intense with battles throughout the field. The man on the move early was the car of Josh Pieniazek who came from his ninth starting spot to the top five.
At the halfway mark Goodrich had a commanding lead. The action was for the other top five spots with Miller, Radivoy, and Preston racing door to door with Pieniazek, Jordon Thomas, and Brian Krummel all chasing when the second caution flew on lap thirteen regrouping the field.
When racing resumed, Goodrich continued to be strong and retook control. Action continued to be intense with positions changing lap after lap. With time running out, Goodrich went on to the checkered flag ahead of the strong field. Miller, Radivoy, Pieniazek, Preston, Thomas, and Krummel followed.
Sprint Notes: Kyle Smith will be crowned the 2015 CRSA Champion at the speedway banquet scheduled Saturday November 14th. David French had motor issues after hot laps and was unable to start the feature. Ten different drivers were able to win feature events this season. Goodrich led the pack with nine feature wins. Other multiple feature winners include Pieniazek, Krummel, and Emily VanInwegen. Sidney Prince made her first start of the 2015 season.
