Scott Goodrich Takes CRSA Checkered Flag in I-88 Speedway 40 Lap Feature Event

SCOTT GOODRICH CLAIMS EIGHTH CRSA FEATURE OF 2015 AT I-88 SPEEDWAY

Oneonta, NY… The CRSA Sprint Tour returned to I-88 Speedway Saturday to compete in the tour’s longest race of the season. Twenty eight sprint cars signed into the pits at the tight I-88 Speedway on a perfect night for racing. The three heats that were contested were won by Cody Flack, Josh Flint, and Dustin Purdy to set the starting field for the main event. The forty lap feature, part of the Algonkin Motel Fall 250, was claimed by eight time CRSA winner Scott Goodrich of Middletown, New York.

Tom Radivoy jumped from his pole starting spot to the early lead. Dustin Purdy and Eddie Strada would follow closely during the beginning stages of the contest with Goodrich moving forward from his sixth starting spot. Radivoy continued to lead the pack for the first sixteen circuits. Goodrich made his move to take the lead on lap seventeen followed closely by Radivoy, Strada, Purdy, and Brian Krummel.

The only stoppage of the race came on lap twenty eight for the flipping car of Mike Kiser. The accident collected Brock Bilger of Connecticut making his first ever CRSA start of 2015. When racing resumed Goodrich stayed out front with Strada, Purdy, and Krummel battling for positions. Kummel’s run came to an end with only two laps remaining as he pulled off with mechanical problems. Goodrich would take the checkered flag with Strada, Purdy, Chad Miller, and Radivoy following.

SPRINT NOTES: Lap money of $1400 was distributed to those running in the top spots in the feature event. This would be the last full points paying event of the season with Kyle Smith holding a four point lead over Josh Pieniazek. Chad Miller and Dalton Herrick are both within fifty points. Fifteen year old Sydney Prince came all the way from Killingsworth, CT to make her first ever sprint car start. The CRSA Sprints return to action Saturday October 17th at the Penn Can Speedway for the King of the Can Weekend.
